“Grooves – Volume 5” dates back to early summer 2016.
The compilation features tracks from usual suspects like Kraak & Smaak, Skeewiff, The Torpedo Boyz and Smoove as well as some lesser known but very cool stuff. The Drum’n’Bass Version “Dub Of A Preacherman” by Count Skylarkin & Harvey K-Tel is plain fun, although purists probably will start to rip their hair off right away. JFB’s “The Temple Ball” is a groovy breakbeat track released back in 2003 on their “No Destination EP”. The Medicine Head Remix of “Mercedes Benz” is one of a kind and was even included by Sony/Columbia on the Double CD “Janis Joplin – The Ultimate Collection”. The “Papa Jay Unmixed – Grooves” series went on hiatus and there were no new compilations released since 2016.
